The four ideas
Rather than presenting isolated talks, my speaking returns to a small number of recurring questions. Whether addressing universities, conferences, media, or policy audiences, these are the ideas that continue to shape my work.
Africa is not poor. It has been made dependent.
Development cannot be understood without examining the historical and institutional arrangements that continue to shape economic relationships between Africa and the wider world.

Lasting influence begins with meaningful participation in the societies where diaspora communities live. By building institutions, earning trust, and contributing locally, they become better positioned to strengthen the countries they still call home.
